snv/pt QUEST 1
BACKSTORY
The tribal elders are excited because it is nearly the lunar conjunction, when the two moons combine into one moon. This event happens only once every twenty three years. When it does, the Night Sky Gods return.
At this time, every tribe must sacrifice one of its members at the Temple in the Cursed Land. Tribes who do not, are wiped out. Tribes who do, are rewarded, with wisdom.
This has always been the way ever since the first ones were put on this world by the Night Sky Gods.
It takes one cycle of the fast moon to travel to the Temple of Blood and Life. The conjunction will be in two fast moons. The elders are discussing how best to choose who should be sacrificed. It is regarded as a great honor to be sacrificed to the Night Sky Gods.
Before play commences, the Players must discuss between themselves whether their tribe is Nomadic or Settled.
Settlers may have domesticated one species of animal
(poultry, pigs, sheep, dogs, cats; but not cows or horses).
Settlers must discuss what their base is like;
mountain cave, swamp island, mud&stick dwellings, etc.
Nomadic tribes are hunter-gatherers and follow their food source which is migratory across the plains, bush or rainforest.
In either case, decisions must be made as to the tribes main food source.
The tribes are hunter-gatherers, not farmers, with exception of settlers with one domesticated species.
There are other tribes. The size of the groups tribe indicates how well they get along with other tribes. Life is difficult and other tribes are very often regarded as either a source of food or a deadly threat; cannibalism being a factor of life for many hungry tribes.
